Technical Service Engineer - Packaging Adhesives

Jowat Corporation has an immediate opening for a Technical Service Engineer - Packaging Adhesives.

Jowat is a leading provider of packaging adhesives, committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to its customers. We are seeking a skilled Technical Service Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hot melt adhesives and cold glue application systems and be able to understand and troubleshoot common mechanical/electrical issues with application systems.

Day-in-the-life and your responsibilities:

• Provide technical support to customers and the sales team as needed regarding the selection and application of adhesives. Advise customers on general servicing of adhesive equipment, such as units, hoses, pumps, and applicators.
• Conduct on-site customer visits to assess adhesive application processes, troubleshoot issues, and provide support and guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with the sales team to identify customer needs and recommend adhesive solutions.
• Assist in developing technical documentation, including application guides and troubleshooting manuals.
• Conduct product demonstrations and training sessions for customers and internal staff.
• Collect and analyze data on adhesive performance and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.
• Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements for packaging adhesives.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality management, to address customer needs and resolve technical issues.
• Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to promote products and services.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, technical inquiries, and product evaluations.

Education/Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical support or a related role, preferably in the packaging industry.
• Strong understanding of common packaging machines, such as case/carton erectors, case and carton sealers and tray formers.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot adhesive-related issues in a manufacturing environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
