Jowat Corporation has an immediate opening for a Purchasing Agent in High Point, NC.

As a Purchasing Agent, you will play a vital role in the procurement process of goods and services for our company. Working closely with senior purchasing agents and other departments, you will assist in sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials necessary for our operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

 

Day-in-the-life and Your Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior purchasing agents in sourcing and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for company operations.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their products and services.
  • Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers, negotiate terms and pricing, and make recommendations to senior purchasing agents.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and lead times to ensure efficient procurement processes.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to understand their purchasing needs and requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with inventory management teams to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Assist in resolving supplier-related issues such as late deliveries, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement to enhance purchasing strategies.
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding purchasing and vendor management.
  • Provide administrative support to the purchasing department as needed, including generating purchase orders, processing invoices, and updating supplier information in the database.

 

Our Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with SAP preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and best practices is desirable.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and grow in the role.
