We are seeking a skilled and highly motivated PUR chemist to join our company. As a PUR Chemist, you will be responsible for developing and formulating polyurethane (PUR) materials for various applications. You will work closely with our research and development team to innovate and optimize PUR formulations that meet specific performance criteria. This role requires a strong background in polymer chemistry, hands-on experience in synthesis and characterization of PUR materials, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve formulation-related issues
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop new formulations of PUR hot melt adhesives for various industrial applications.
- Optimize existing formulations to improve performance, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and interpret results to support product development and innovation.
- Develop and implement R&D strategies to drive innovation and product improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, Technical Service, and production to scale up formulations from lab-scale to production.
- Utilize various characterization methods to assess material properties, such as mechanical testing, thermal analysis, and spectroscopy.
- Troubleshoot formulation issues and provide technical support to resolve manufacturing challenges.
- Support sales, product management, and technical service by traveling to customer plants.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations, as well as provide other departments with pertinent information on products, raw materials and processes.
- Stay current with the latest advancements and trends in the adhesive industry through continuous learning and professional development.
- Monitor industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation.
Our Requirements:
- PhD in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, or related field.
- Experience in formulating polyurethane adhesives and product development, would be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of polymer chemistry principles and structure-property relationships.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and techniques for synthesis, characterization, and testing of materials.
- Deep understanding of research and development processes and techniques.
- Ability to think critically and strategically to drive innovation and problem-solving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Creative with strong communication skills.
- Open to work in an international environment.
